Osaka Castle: A Historical Icon
Osaka Castle is one of Japan's most famous landmarks, playing a major role in the unification of Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama period in the 16th century. The current main tower is a concrete reconstruction completed in 1931, but retains the grandeur of the original castle.
Historical Significance
Originally built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the castle served as a center of power in western Japan. After being destroyed and rebuilt several times, the current reconstruction preserves the castle's historical importance while making it accessible to modern visitors.
